This is the story of life and times of Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad. It is the story of a common person who went on to become the Missile man of India and the 11th President of India.
Every person comes up through hard work to achieve success and wants every person to tell their story so the rest can find inspiration to go on. 'Wings of Fire' is an autobiography of the scientist President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
He came up from modest beginnings. The book is full of personal moments, insights and experiences and helps you understand his journey through life’s ups and downs to reach success.
Dr Kalam’s narration makes one search for the inner fire/potential within an individual. He believed that each person is born with an inner strength and the potential to change the world.
He has explained how he inspired himself to accomplish his dreams. The book captures this very nicely.
The book is a collection of notes, anecdotes, stories from childhood, school and college. Also the time he spent at Langley Research Center, NASA and Wallops Flight Facility.

In the second half the book Dr Kalam talks about his contribution towards the country’s guided missile program, a pioneering effort. The book has just 24 photographs from his life. The book has been authored by Dr Abdul Kalam and Mr Arun Tiwari both. Mr Tiwari was also a well known missile scientist and worked with Dr Kalam.
