The Theory of Everything - Stephen Hawkins
The Stephen Hawking who recently died was an English
cosmologist, theoretical physicist, and author. He was also the Director of
Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology under the University of
Cambridge.
This book is a view of the world through the author’s eyes. In
this book he combines seven lectures which explain to a reader in very easy
language and explanation or a theory for everything under the sun. It could be
about the origin of the universe. It could be a problem related to mathematics
or it could be about existence. He clearly states in his lectures that it was
not one event that began everything but a series of events which led to the
origin. Using the individual theories he has created a theory of his own on the
origin of everything. He dismisses the all powerful entity or God.
The reader will be introduced to everything – ideologies,
theories, Big Bang, Black holes, time and yet he is skeptical and says that
there are obstacles in this theory and is not as simple as it sounds in the
text. He talks about four types of forces – weak, strong, gravity and
electromagnetic. It is an extraordinary theory that talks about science and
natural powers.
This is a reprint of the book published in
2006.
